Today was a busy day for me. I woke up and got ready and then I got to work with two of the teachers from the feeding center on their English. Let me tell you, these two ladies are the sweetest people ever, and they really helped me out throughout the day. The showed me what it means to be a teacher who cares for their students and who are intentional with every single moment that they have with those kids. These teachers are phenomenal, and you can tell that they are taking their job very seriously, and even to the next level. These kids have great teachers who take the time to not only feed into them academically and help them to be successful, but they also feed Jesus into them on a daily basis, which is what we so desperately need. Today was my first day one on one with the kids teaching them English. I had an absolute blast talking to the kids and getting to know each of them, by learning their names (which keep in mind isn't the easiest when there is around 60 of them and they try to trick you by swapping names with someone else), but we are definitely working to learn each others name. The best part of today was watching these kids belly laugh when I would pronounce some word in English. They thought it was the funniest thing ever. The word that got the most laughs was the word purple. They kept trying to read it as poor-play, and it cracked them up. Man, seeing those kids with the biggest smile on their face gasping for air because they can't breathe from laughing so hard, made it so much better. I am so looking forward to knowing each of these kids and laughing alongside of them about our funny English words. After that I got to go up to the Mission House and eat dinner with the team again, and of course it was amazing. Those people are amazing and have treated me like one of their own these few days and made sure I was okay and that I have everything that I need. I am so looking forward to these relationships that have been made this week, to continue to grow stronger. Today was a great day and it definitely tired me out, so I am calling it a day and I can't wait to share what the coming days have in store for me.
